Seniors & Special Needs

Senior cats deserve the best humankind has to offer!

We need you to provide abandoned and homeless senior cats with a safe and caring FOSTER HOME to live the rest of their days in peace, comfort, and love. After senior cats have been with Tails to Tell for 6 months they qualify for our Forever Foster Program, which means they can remain with that special senior person who wants to love them as long as possible.

Human Benefits of a Feline Companion

  • Improved mental health, cardiovascular health, and quality of life!

The PAW-Sitives of caring for a Senior cat:

  • They are quiet companions with well-developed manners.
  • They use the litter box and scratching post without constant reminders.
  • What you see is what you get. Senior cats already know who they are.
  • They are less demanding of your attention. And, after a long day, you may just want to come home and curl up with your furry friend – seniors love laps…and chin rubs.

Seniors for Seniors Foster Families Needed!

Our Foster Program gives senior citizens the opportunity to have a feline companion, without costs.

  • You must be a senior citizen who is willing to care for a senior cat.
  • You must be physically capable of basic cat care, like daily litter box scooping, and providing food and fresh water.
  • All senior cats must be kept indoors, unless they are on a leash.
  • You must be able to communicate any changes in the cat’s behavior or health, such as if they are not eating or are feeling unwell.
  • No adoption fee and Vet bills are covered
  • Medical support, Food and litter, and Cat supplies provided
  • Tails to Tell remains responsible for their care should any major changes occur in your ability to care for them.

If you have a huge heart for older cats and are looking for a companion this program is for you.

Full of Love

Our Shelter is often home to special needs cats who need extra care and attention for some reason. Often our special kitties have a health condition that requires medication or close monitoring, so these felines are cared for in Foster Homes. The Special Cats we meet are so full of love and gratefully appreciate the care and attention they are given. Helping a Special Needs Cat is a very rewarding cat-human relationship and a satisfying act of selfless generosity. At this time, we have special cats in foster homes that will benefit from your donations. If you can Sponsor a Special Cat, click to learn more about making a donation.
