Drax is Transformed by Love!!

Back in March, we received a beautiful fluffy 3 year old boy. Sadly, Drax was terrified, confused and went into shut down. His whole world had totally been upended. Volunteers worked diligently and slowly to gain his trust and help him feel more secure in his new environment. When we say slowly, we’re talking 3 months. However, one of our amazing volunteers broke through! Samuel became his saviour. Drax and Sam bonded and Drax started to open up. Instead of Sam offering a caring hand for a chin rub, Drax now sought Sam out. Every shift Sam volunteered on, Drax was his go-to to work with and Drax soaked it up.

Drax is a transformed floofball. Although he can still be a little cautious around people, he accepts those chin rubs more and more. And, you’ll often find Drax napping with another buddy at the shelter, checking out the world from a window seat, accepting playtime with his favourite toys and of course, the sound of the treat bag. He’ll be first in line for his share.

Drax needs a furever home without small children – they just move too fast for him, so older and respectful children would be better for him. Another kitty friend would be ideal as he does love to play and hang out with all the other residents – it would be a helpful adjustment for him to have a friend to show him the ropes of his new furever home.

He’ll need that special human to continue Sam’s work…patience, love and understanding that he’ll need time to be your snuggle buddy. We know he’ll get there, we’ve often found Drax on Sam’s lap getting all the attention he can get.

Drax is up to date on his shots, microchipped and neutered.
